Hostess Brands, maker of the popular Twinkies and Wonder Bread convenience snacks, has sought bankruptcy protection, citing increased competition and tough economic conditions, along with high pension and medical benefit obligations. The move represents the second time in three years that the maker of Twinkies has sought protection from creditors.
