Canada: Gasoline Retailers Association Wants Pay-Before-You-Pump System

The Gasoline Retailers Association on Prince Edward's Island is hoping to curtail the number of people stealing gas from filling stations by introducing a pay-before-you-pump policy to customers. Prompted by a recent rise in the number of motorists attempting to leave a station without paying, the Association would have customers pay inside first before using the pumps, a measure which could allow retailers to cut them off when they have pumped what they paid for. 


USA: Getty Realty Begins Sale Process of 160 Sites

Getty Realty has announced that it has begun to reposition and sell 160 fuel service stations leased from Getty Petroleum Marketing. In an earnings conference call, company CEO David Driscoll outlined Getty Realty's plans for the sites leased by Getty Petroleum Marketing, which is under bankruptcy protection since December 5. 


US: OPW Appoints Grote as District Manager

OPW Fueling Components has appointed Brandon Grote (pictured) as a district manager with responsibility for all sales activities in Ohio, Michigan, Indiana and Kentucky. Grote most recently served as an above ground product manager at OPW, which manufactures environmental systems and fuel management systems as well as other fuel components. He previously worked in engineering and product management/marketing at the company, having been at OPW since 2000.
