Australia: Woolworths Beecroft Single-Use Plastic Bag Free Launch

Australia: Woolworths Beecroft Single-Use Plastic Bag Free Launch

The new Woolworth store applies 'single use' bags.

The new Woolworths Beecroft has decided to be the first full line supermarket in New South Wales to be single-use plastic bag free.  Earlier this year, Woolworths has committed to go single-use plastic bag free across all supermarkets nationwide by 30 June 2018 and the decision to open the new outlet without offering customers single-use plastic bags follows this.

“We know that many in the local Beecroft community have been advocating for a single use plastic bag shopping free experience, and our commitment from day one of opening the store is the first step in Woolworths journey to go single-use plastic bag free across all supermarkets by mid next year,” said Janet Stoffels, Woolworths Beecroft Store Manager.

Significant employment opportunities have also been created by the new store. The new shop also promises a convenient shopping experience. “We spent a great deal of time understanding what local shoppers were looking for and are proud to also offer Beecroft a new and modern shopping experience,” added Janet Stoffels.
