The mobile wallet app encourages Malaysians to shop cashless
A wholly owned subsidiary of MOL Global Inc., MOL AccessPortal Sdn Bhd (“MOL”), has unveiled its mobile wallet app, One2pay. The app is designed and developed from the ground up to make payment experience in the physical stores and digital world even more flawless and simpler than before.
Regulated by Bank Negara Malaysia, the One2pay app can be downloaded from Apple’s App Store and Google Play and anyone with a valid Malaysian mobile phone number can register for a free account.
7-Eleven Malaysia (“7-Eleven”), the largest convenience store chains in Malaysia will accept One2pay, with all 2,218 7-Eleven stores across Malaysia accepting One2pay by 17th January 2018.
“Customer convenience is the cornerstone of our brand promise. Enabling One2pay acceptance at 7-Eleven stores underscored our commitment to deliver convenience to our customers,” said Ho Meng, Acting CEO of 7-Eleven Malaysia. “Malaysians can now walk into any 7-Eleven store, day or night, and pay using their mobile phones. This could be a game changer for us.”

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between MARA Corporation Sdn. Bhd. (MARA Corporation) and MOL AccessPortal Sdn. Bhd to explore opportunities in the area of cooperation towards assisting each other in reenergizing the business community and entrepreneurs, with the introduction of mobile electronic payment gateways and e-wallet.
More users and merchants will be allowed by this joint venture to deploy One2pay app and to adopt e-payment solutions. The deployment of merchant acquiring services via direct integration to merchant’s Point-of-Sales (POS), physical or virtual terminals for physical cash and digital payment acceptance will also be assisted by MOL.
