UK: Post Office Presents Opportunities for Fuel Retailers, Says Christie

Business advisor Christie + Co has said that a planned overhaul of the post service will present opportunities for fuel retailers. Allen Shepherd, a Director of Retail for the company, said that the future shape of the Post Office or postal services network was still to be defined in law, but that the days of small, independent post offices are likely numbered. 


UK: Mobil 1 Finds that 75% of Motorists Don't Know How to Check Oil

Mobil 1 has found that three-quarters of British motorists don't know how to check the oil in their vehicle, and that half don't know why oil is used in engines. The statistics, the result of a study into engine maintenance habits performed by the company, paint a worrying picture of UK drivers' knowledge, said Mobil 1. 


Hungary: MOL Adopts KSS Fuels Technology

MOL Hungarian Oil and Gas has begun using PriceNet at 300 of its fuel sites in Hungary, announced KSS Fuels, the maker of the pricing solutions system.  KSS said that as well as part of the PriceNet package chosen by MOL, the company will have access to its mobile service, which allows price changes to be approved quickly so as to keep up with competitors, and its maps module, which presents key information via Google Maps.
