The extension is in response to a growing demand to help reduce emissions and improve the environment
UK’s largest independent supplier of fuels and lubricants, Certas Energy, has decided to extend its supply of Shell GTL Fuel to its Horsham depot, in response to a growing demand for practical solutions to help reduce emissions. This will provide customers across Sussex access to a cleaner burning alternative to diesel.
Certas Energy’s existing distribution network for Shell GTL Fuel in Eastham, Ashford and the Peel Ports bunker site in Liverpool, is added to by the availability of Shell GTL at Horsham. Shell GTL Fuel helps to reduce harmful emissions such as Nitrogen Oxide and Particulate Matter. The fuel can be used as a drop-in solution for diesel engines, which is one of its biggest benefits, eliminating the need for expensive engine modifications or changes to infrastructure. Moreover, it is readily biodegradable and the fuel disperses easily.
As part of a strategic agreement with Shell, Certas Energy has been pioneering the use of Shell GTL Fuel, since 2016. millions of liters of the fuel have been sold by Certas Energy in the UK to customers including construction, haulage, local councils and utilities businesses as well as high profile brands such Brakes Group.
Richard Billington, Regional Director for the South East at Certas Energy, said, “Following the positive responses we’ve had from customers using Shell GTL Fuel so far, we’re delighted to be extending our national network to enable us to locally supply businesses across Sussex who are looking to reduce emissions and improve their environmental credentials. Businesses who rely on diesel for their everyday operations have an important role to play in tackling air pollution, and cleaner burning alternative fuels are key to powering the transition to low emission mobility.
