Phillips66 to Focus on Pipelines and Chemicals Business

Phillips66 has announced that its business will focus more on the pipelines and chemicals industry than on former owner ConocoPhillips' traditional fuel retail roots. The newly spun-off company said that it will make the move in order to place less reliance on the sluggish fuels market. It made the announcement in one of the company's first investor presentations since its May 1 spin-off.

Australia: EC Harris Names Head Man for Perth Office

Leading built asset consultancy EC Harris has named John Boase to head up the firm's recently-opened Perth office. A new Partner within the group's oil and gas team, he is officially serving as Location Leader for Australia, co-lead its oil & gas, chemicals and natural resources sector in conjunction with Ian Kennedy, who is responsible for operations in Malaysia.


Couche-Tard Statoil Deal Fast-Tracked

Alimentation Couche-Tard has received the necessary clearance from Danish regulators for its takeover of Statoil fuel & Retail. The Canadian chain, which plans to rename the firm as Couche-Tard Norway ASA, has also received confirmation that Russian and Polish competition authorities will deliver their decisions on the deal by May 24 and June 20 respectively.
